prenup +1!!!! Good luck bro, and there ARE better day's ahead. I look back on my life and wouldn't change a thing. Made me the bitter paranoid shell of a man that I once was...[&:][&:][&:]
I have been happily married for 36 years this coming August. Several of my friends have divorced. The ones that didn't fight for everything they had lost everything. The ones that said "I just want it to be over with" lost the most.
Fight Fight Fight for everything and let her get tired or at least you can go down trying.
The good guy allways loses.......
Ive been down that road(13 yrs),she got caught withher pants down several times and I tried to stay because of the children[&o]..I payed child support on 2 children, sold her the house for a buck, sold my mom my HD for 500.00,sold my shop equiptment for cash(my cash)Ex got half my 401K,42 grand and didnt pay her taxes on it,she got the better veh,I got thejunker.shefild BR,I had to fight for my good credit,But the best thing of all...I met and married a wounderfull gal and havent been this happy for a long time.12yrs now and we havnt had one big fight yet and never have had a yelling match ether....
I'll never figure out why the courts seem to feel that a perfectly able bodied woman needs half (or more of a man's assets) upon divorce. If the kids are still youngsters, of course you should have to contributed to their upbringing, financially and otherwise. However if the kids are grown, and on their own, the financial responsibility should end there. Sounds like another man hating female judge. My brother had to deal with one of those during his own break up. Sounds like you've got a good woman in your life now, so hopefully you can tough this out, and life will go on.
I hear you about Judges/Masters. Personally I think my lawyer got "out lawyered". I'm tired of getting shat on everytime I go to court. I quit!As I said before a few months from now I'll be in a much better financial situation, so much so that mywife is telling me we are going to fullfill one of my other dreams, owning a Corvette. After this last round, the **** can't get anymore out of me legally. As someone else in this thread said, karma will come back to haunt ex. As for myself, I've got a clear conscience
Hang in there it S%^KS but things will get better down the road. And what ever you do don't get married ever again find one she got her money you got yours she got her place you got yours. If they talk marrage say good buy. There is no reason to get married unless your going have kids. No other reason. Not for health Ins pensons any reason but kids. And thats that. Been there done that I know your pain. I don't answer to her I buy what I want with my money My OL is a good women I respect her and she me but get married again heck NO.
Not trying to be a smartass, but it sounds like it's time to get a new lawyer. Remember, a good lawyer knows the law ... but a GREAT lawyer knows the judge!
A girl friend of mine is actually going BACK to court next month in a custody battle over the Heritage that SHE bought BEFORE the marriage. Go Figure. The courts are getting weirder and weirder.
