Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Week

I see on the website it says the dates are May 9th-18th.. When I called to make some hotel reservations,they guy told me that Bike Week really didn't start until like the 13th.. Just curious when it is so I can make arrangements..TIA

there is actually 2 rallys in 1. actual bike week starts on the 9th. carolina hd dealers assoc. rally begins on the 14th. thats when the crowds will roll in. 10 days of fun. i'm ready.

MBBW encompasses 2 weekends, but it really doesn't get cranking until wed/thurs, and goes full bore thru the last saturday. The crowds are a lot lighter in the 1st half of the rally, its a lot easier to get around. Most of the vendors are open during 1st half of rally but not all. I don't think HD sets up for their demo rides until Wednesday or so. I have done it both ways, I think I prefer the 2nd half cause there is more *ahem* scenery to look at, and I have seen enuf$49 chap dealers already to last a lifetime.
