Hehe, glad you didn't take the MSF and decide you'll never get on a bike again having alreadybought a motorcycle. Taking the course was a good start. Considering how the start of this season went for me I'm thinking I should plan on taking the course at the start of each season. Maybe the advanced rider course since it's cheaper and you ride your own bike. Good time of year to be starting as well, you have the full season ahead of you.
dieselweasel: Congrats on taking your first ride! Riding is sooooooooooo much fun! What's with your signature?
I found my sig on a forum I used to visit a long time ago and thought it was hilarious so I decided to use it here. I appreciate all the kind words everyone. I didn't mean to say that ALL of the scared got knocked out of me, just the amount I had to get out on the road and actually start riding. I'll see yall out there on the road.
I had a few close calls when I first started riding, as you get more experienced, you will learn to ride more defensively, and the close calls wont come as often. You will see what I mean after a few months, you wont have to think about it you will just do it. A few pointers: get used to being able to hit your horn on a moments notice, also if you see a car that you think might pull out in fron of you, dont be afraid to flash your high beam, they might not like it, but it will get their attention. Take your time learning you and your bikes limitations, and be careful following experienced riders on twisty roads. It takes a while before your skills will catch up with your bikes capabilities. Good job taking the MSF course. Ride safe and have fun![sm=signs003.gif]
Safety tip of the day..... When coming to a stop ALWAYS look in your rear view mirror and make sure the person behind you is stopping, leave yourself an escape route. This has saved my life more then once. Enjoy!!
oh yea, and don't mind all the woman who will be flashing you at stop lights. Keep your eyes on the rode
