Dumped my bike in the garage today. Thought the kickstand was down...it wasnt. Bike fell on my leg and minor damage. Last week pulled into a parking lot where many bikers hang. Pulled into my space and kicked back for awhile. When I got my eye fill of bikes I started mine up to find I left it in 1st. Barley had my hands on when she kicked and almost lost her. Very red in the face as I trotted off. I'm not the only one...whats yours..

My wife did that once, but she's, umm, a girl.....and umm, she's blonde....but only once[8D]
Thanks Ron...that helps alot....

Anything to help a brother....

I've gotten in the habit of always engaging the clutch lever when starting for just that reason. Really, HD should lock out the starter if the vehicles not in neutral. Every other bike I've had has had that feature.

I've never dropped any of my bikes, but have dropped others. DH was on business trip. I'm cleaning garage, need to move his bike. Got on to push forward and kickstand went up while I was doing that. Went to put her over and down we went...I went flying into the wall and bashed my head. Can't get the bike up. Call several people, their not home. Run to neighbor, he helps me. Call DH and say "Hon, you love me no matter what, RIGHT?!" He says, "Wha'd you do to my bike?"! Little damage, but he still loves me!!

In middle ofa pack of about 10. Going around a left turn. I don't make it, go off the road, around a stop sign into the shoulder. It rained few days before and ground is all rutted. I'm thinking...should I ride it out, or jump the hell off. I ride it out, get back in the pack right where I was. Unfortunately, there was a new rider with us and he was behind me. Once we stopped, he told us he was outta there and never riding with us again! I thought I did a damn good job of keeping her up and controling the situation! My father taught me well. BTW, that was because I had a low tire! Check your tires!!

Was in my cage, pulling up to get gas and there was a really good looking biker there and I was staring at him and ran into those polls at the pumps!! He came over to ask if I was ok....oh, please go away and let me die in embarrassment!!

Man, I did something realy similar to that. Had to cut the gras and wanted to push my buddies bike out of the way so I didn't get clippings on it. Well the drive is gravel and while pushing the bike I slipped on the gravel and droped the damn thing! cost me 300$ LOL. Next time his black bike will be green if he don't park it where I canwork around it.

My most memorable was pulling off the freeway for gas after riding 2 hrs, down the ramp to a stop light. The bike just fell over, forgot to put my feet down, "White line fever".The good part and the bad part: The good part, a couple of bikers ran over from the gas station and helped me get it back up, the bad part was the cheering crowd of 40+ bikers on a run who saw it all from the station.
I wasn't too embarased to go over and gas up, but I was sure the topic of discussion. No damage.

There was a thread in the Softail section I think it was... "Don't Ask Me How I Know... I Just Know". Same idea as this one but has about 5 pages of useful "experiance". You should search for it.
