I was riding in the shadows of some trees with my sunglasses on and hit a dead squirrel on the road, didn't see it but caught it in the mirror it flipped up and almost hit a buddy that was following me in the head...........pretty funny!

I live out in a very rural area, and the over population of deer we have in this area are the cause of the majority of vehicle accidents.
In the county where I live there are only 8,000 people, and an estimated 15,000 white tail deer.
Even so, earlier today I was out on the Softail and had to 'lock them up' to avoid a 'Kamakazi Turkey'....

Welcome to HDF. The FB was my dream bike as well. I finally got one last year. (an '04) I tucked a set of deer whistles on to my bike. They're black, so match the colour of my bike. No real proof they work other than the fact I've never hit a deer on my bike. I figure for $10 or so, they're worth it. Just an idea for you. Never hurts to keep a sharp eye out either.

Welcome from Southern Illinois!!!!!!!!! I have had several close call from timber critters as well. The worst was an "Armoureddildo"!!! in Texas. Just about put me, the wife, 97 Sportster and it, all in a pine box!!!!!!

welcome and be carefull. i was riding yesterday came to an intersection a young girl was a the stop sign made eye contact with me and still pulled out hit the horn and the brakes rear locked up thought i was going to lay the bike down and slam into her car! fortunatly she stopped midway and i was able to let go of the rear brake and swerve around her. needless to say it scared the **** out of me!

i had a front end blowout the other day doin 80+ on a busy a road( duel carage way) had to put my feet down at 50mph to hold it up, wore through soles of my boots, i **** meself when i stopped& saw it woz the front not rear that had blown. but it hasent stopped me gunnin it. just u stay lucky 2
