Default Nee help replacing petcock

The stock petcock on my '98 FXD has decided it wants to drip out the bottom hole (it's a left outlet type). Looks easy enough to replace except for paying HD the $88 they want for the replacement. I've looked at aftermarket types but they say you have to plug up the vacuum line. I'd like a vacuum type since I don't turn off my petcock when I park my bike (if I understand it right i'd have to turn the petcock off if I buy a free flow type??). Does anyone know where I can find a decently priced vacuum type? Anything I need to know before attempting to replace it (other than the obvious drain the tank!). Thanks!!! sorry for the dumb question out here.

I'd nut it up and get the valve without the vacuum and get in the habit of turning off the fuel valve. Only thing that might be a little wierd is that some of them have double thread nut arrangements. To get the new one tight, you have to work with the spacing.

Not sure on Evo. but on Twin cam pecock threads are backwards if I remember right. Not positive but something to keep in mind if it doesn't break loose easly.

Did you look into replacing all the rubber gaskets in the existing one? Might be cheaper and easier.
