New bike, with true duals! My biker babe got her boot heel against the left side pipe!!!! Whats the best way to get that ugly black gunk off the pipe without scratching it??? HELP!!!

 

Well, it's not Acetone,cuz I tried that!!

 

warm it up a bit, scrape the heavy stuff off with one of those plastic dish scrapers then use Goo Gone it will come right off, then clean the pipe the way you normaly would, my wife does it 2 or 3 times a summer.

 

Easy-Off oven cleaner works if you try tamer methods and they don't work. You may need to leave it on over night. Be very cafeful not to get it on anything but the pipe. I've used it. It works and it didn't mess up the chrome on my pipe.

 

a penny works well. Soft enough that it doesn't scratch the chrome, but strong enough to peel that stuff off warm pipes.

 

steel wool but it needs to be 00or 000 (double or triple ott) whatever you like to call it. Works great on all the chrome.
