Well i'm getting my bike painted and was thinkin about keeping theswitching the paint upa little. Just was wondering what everybody thought. If anybody has any suggestion i'm open
It would seem to me that from a collector standpoint, looking at future resale, that the value would be diminished. But I don't know that for a fact. Anyway it looks good like it is.
A custom paint job is the one you do to really make that bike yours. As for resale value, it might help, if you go with something standard like flames or something. Otherwise, go with what you really want and ride that thing forever.
custom for sure! if you do it do it big! i never understand when people bring me their bikes and wnat the same paint job they have stock.... well i can in a way... Harley uses a water based clear... JUST SUCKS!!! i have buffed out bikes and just cleared them many times to use a better clear... that way you do not get the swirl marks and it is much harder to scratch the bike... i would say do it big... custom paint! there is a company that makes a paint just like chrome and you can blend it while it is still wet... Fantachrome is a decent product and you can pigment the clear so that you can get illusions like a Red chrome and other colors... pretty cool stuff

I would do custom but not flames. There is nothing wrong with Flames(disclaimer), but they have been done. Its kinda like skulls they have been done too. I would go to a tattoo shop and look to get some ideas.
IF you do go back black then pay for the best paint you can. Like JRK5892was saying the paint itself can make all the difference.
I would like to do a custom paint but i'm not sure what would look right on the bike. I like the look of the bike now but since i'm painting i would like to do something different. The guy who's painting the bike can pretty much paint anything and does excellent work. Anybody have any pictures of some custom paint on a Heritage
