Maybe more Brembo/ABS options, perhaps on FL Softails or something. Otherwise, just colors.
For Sportsters....there is the XR1200. And while the European market is very different, HD has done a lot--relative to other initiatives--to get that thing in production. While the look may not sell here as broadly, that wouldn't be to hard to change. (The holes in the XR1200? Do you mean the intakes for the A/C? Look again, the A/C isn't where it "should" be.)
The big changes in the HD line lately have been oriented towards this mysterious younger demographic. That would seem the direction they are likely to continue moving in.
lets kjust throw it out to 210 won`t that be some kind of anniverary yr, pink and gold , and the wideglide is already gone 07 new left overs still at my dealer, whatever the cusom builders are selling harley will come out with a model simiular they are the followers now, but so are we, still have a hard time believing people bought those duracell colors, oh well look at 03 silver and black (real collectors)
Don't see much point in a water cooled Sportster. They tried something like that with the Vrod StreetRod and nobody was interested. I think a water cooled touring bike is inevitable but this year......?? Maybe a small displacement 'beginner bike' for all the new riders HD wants to attract?
That's where they're seriously missing the mark. The Buell Blast wasn't it. A 500-750 with a seat height/handlebar arrangement similar to Honda's Rebel (lose the forward controls/pegs)or Guzzi's Nevada is what a lot of their dealers have been crying for.
