Don't see much point in a water cooled Sportster. They tried something like that with the Vrod StreetRod and nobody was interested. I think a water cooled touring bike is inevitable but this year......?? Maybe a small displacement 'beginner bike' for all the new riders HD wants to attract?
Look for HD to contine to expand the "dark customs" line they started. Their goal is to sell more cheaper bikes to younger buyers. The avg HD rider age keeps going higher and HD wants to bring this back down.
SE Fatboy with 200mm rear tire ran for two years(?) Then the very next year it was standard on all Fatboys.
SE Road King comes with a 170 Rear. Maybe that will be standard for all touring bikes this year? That would be cool!
I predict that there is no point in trying to guess what the factory is going to do, until you see an actual news release.
Much of what they end up doing will probably depends on economic conditions during the remainder of the year, new bike sales this year by model, etc., etc...
There was 'advanced notice' about the Rocker being released, but the X-Bones took many by surprise..
Harley will end up doing what they think is in the best interest of the company (and stock holders), which might end up being very position, or very negative, depending on individual views...
Water cooled on all models will kill the MOCO. They have been discounting VRods for over 5 years now, not a big seller. Now if the price was $10k where a young person could afford one (still cheaper to get a rocket) maybe they would sell more, Ya listening MOCO?
New EPA regs for 2010. We will see bigger changes then, they are easing us into them now and have been for years. Why do we care, gas will be $10 a gallon and the country will be on it's *** anyways! I wonder what the 2009 Toyota's will be like?
