Actually I am a closet dyna wide glide man, but I will never admit it pubically till I can afford one. Till then Dyna's suck! I do love my Sportster, but its hard not to like 96 cubic inches
Since according to what I read here, everyone looks down on Sportster's, never lets them ride up front, and they are in general a girls bike, I figured I would point out the flaws of all your Harley's.
Baggers - come on, if I wanted a couch I would have stayed home, you can't call anything that you can fit 2 twelve packs into a bike V-Rod - come on man, it has a radiator...need I say more Softail - faking the hardtail look without the brass to back it up Dyna - glorified Sportster with a bigger engine, but slower and less chrome and crappy mid-controls. Sometimes mistaken for the Sportster but never holds up when rubber meets the road.
I owned a Sporty back-in the day.
I sure do miss those 'Couldn't you afford the rest of it?' comments!
At 6ft 2 I thought I looked good on it ...Denial is an amazing thing!
Anyhow, I mustadmit that that little bike was a blast to own/ride, one of the best summers of my life.
Mama is riding a new 883L crimson red sunglow and loving life..What more can you ask from a 7K HD?
I think everybody is confused about the Sportster, the Sportster is a sports bike and is an excellent handling bike, it leaves the crotch rockets behind on the curvy roads like the Dragons Tail, it is not a bike for beginners or for women, it is for the experienced rider. It is top heavy and and not easy to handle. It is the hardest bike to ride that Harley makes. I know, my wife learned to ride on a sporty and it was hard for her until she got on the Heritage, and after riding the sporty for a year the softtail is like a walk in the park to her, so everybody who disses the sporty are just jealous of its great handling in the curves. Just my .02 cents
