If your a horse person as your name suggests, I'd recommend a pair of roping boots. I have a pair I use for riding that I'll occaisionally slip on when I'm not riding they're so comfortable. Flat rubber sole and heel so you get grip, and depending on how much you want to spend, you can get some really nice leather.
Love my Red Wings, I've had them for 5 years now and they are still water-proof. I've tried HD boots but as much as I ride, I found the leather wore out where I shift, on two pairs in less than two years.
wolverine... wouldnt buy any other boot, but my work paid for a pair of timberlands and they are just as comfortable! i had a pair of HD but gave them away as they were not comfortable... but they were made 5 years ago... maybe they make them more comfortable now?!?!?!?
same here, bought a pair of Redwing engineers boots a few days ago. Very comfortable, well madeand look good
+1. I recently bought these also. The HD brand that I was wearing had a smooth sole to it which I didn't really like. When stopped, if there was any sand, gravel, stones under the sole, it seemed like you could lose your footing. With the type of sole on the RW's, it gives a much more secure feel to it.
