Depends on which V-Rod you're talking about. I watched an n/a Screamin' Eagle V-Rod turn 147 mph last weekend in the 1/4 mile with low 9 second times.
As for you naysayers, most of you probably know little about riding the twisties and scrapin' some metal on the asphalt. I'll take you on any day if ya ain't skeered. I have no reason to doubt the OP's claims. I've seen a good enough rider on a stock '06 Road King that I couldn't keep up with through the twisties on my Deuce.
themetal: That is a fearsome looking bike; I don't know if I'd pick a fight, even if I was on a V-Rod...
I believe somewhere in all this I did get an answer to the actual question...It seems a V-Rod will do 140+. On top speed that would have me 'cause my ****-limiter cuts in at about 125...even though the rev-limiter is set for 6500rpm; whatever that would be if I pulled redline in fifth...
Avery entertainingdiscussion; a bit suprized at how a stock V-Rod is perceived by many as invincible

Hey I beat a V-Rod just the other day on my sporty!
Pulled up to a light and looked over and there was a V-Rod. Challenged that sucker and when the light turned green dropped the clutch and I was gone!
Never did see a rider on the V-Rod sitting in that bar parking lot, but I challenged and beat that sucker!!![sm=happybounce.gif]
from what I have read: Vrod=100 HP stock. Big Twin goal=trying to get to 100HP.....
then to mention handling/weight/etc.
Not to say you didn't beat him fair and square......(but it wasn't a race).
A properly set up FXDX will out handle that floppy handling V-ROD anytime but, everytime the road gets straight..........move to the right 'cause he's coming!
