I swear you all are a bunch of maroons! Have any of you chatterboxers ever built or raced a bike or any vehicle for that matter? Straight facts. You go as fast as your wallet allows. Wanna run 200 hp to the rear wheel in a twinkie. No big deal. Might cost a fortune or be unreliable but it can be done. Whos the dipshit there who thinks there doesnt exist a big twin that can beat a stock vrod? The vrod does quarters in the mid 11's. If you cant make a dyna sport beat that, then your just plain retarded. Period. Plain retarded...

I doubt there is any big twin out there with any amount of engine work that could beat a V-Rod.
I still cant believe you said something that dumb. Please, please, please... refrain from speaking and stick to your HOG meetings. Oh, and engine work involves more than changing your oil.

[sm=violin.gif]I bet he wishes that he never posted this thread.....Anyway how does he know the v-rod was stock?? He was going so fast he couldn't tell.....Hell it might not have been a v-rod since he was going so fast he couldn't even tell......[sm=laughat.gif]

Or maybe he so much to drink that day he thought he was moving and he really wasn't, and the guy on the bike he said he beat backed off when he saw him all over the road before he stopped and put his feet down.....And the bagger dude thought he was kickin ***....
YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!!![sm=chairshot.gif]

And the bagger dude never said his big twin was more than stock.....So a stock bagger vs a stock V-rod NOT HAPPENING unless the rod driver is a total idiot..[sm=boosign.gif][sm=bustedsign.gif]

Has anyone here riddena V-Rod?

Last Saturday one of the riders in my Ride Like A Pro class had a V-Rod. I'm not sure which one it was, but the controls were forward, and it had a really wide tire in the rear. The rider struggled with all the slow speed stuff, and finally took a break. Later he showed me where his right leg was cooked red from the heat coming off the front pipe. I took it for a spin, and it was the most umcomfortable bike I have ever ridden. Being short I did not like having my hands and feet way out in front, and I felt my right leg cooking too. However, the hardest part was the slow speed stuff. Ifound it difficultto turn that thing. The front end kept feeling like it was going to flop over and dump me. One of the other riders mentioned that it could have been the wide tire in the rear, something another rider in an earlier class experienced on a similiar styled Suzuki. After a while I got "used to it", but it felt very awkward. It probably needed a clutch adjustment too, because it did not engage until it was almost fully released. And that combined with the drag bars made it difficult at full lock.

I'm sure it's a great bike in the straights and twisties, it's just not my kind of bike, and I've ridden a lot of bikes in my time.

I road a test ride at Daytona some years ago. They let us hold back and slingshot. Zipped up over 90 like a rocket, never got out of 3rd gear. I'm with you about the comfort. Short bars and forward controls had me bent over like a parachute.
