I've done it. The club I used to ride with did it for large groups. We had road guards who knew what we were doing and we never had any issues. Yes it's illegal, but we've had cops (generally) look the other way.

One time we were leading a ride into DC on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, not Sunday). We had about 28 bikes....we blocked every intersection up Constitution Ave & back down Independence Ave. That was a blast! & we kept everyone together the entire way from and back to our hotel in Northern VA. As we were making a left near the Capitol bldg, a cop on the sidewalk saw us setting our blocks & yelled at us " Hey, we can't have none of that!"--then he stepped out into traffic & stopped it for us! lol...

I don't get it? So, like at an intersection with a light you block crossing cars that have a green light? Then the pack rides through a red light?

What am I missing here? Tell me it ain't so?

Yes, we use blocking... I am a road guard. If we're on a club run, we block when needed. You can rage all you want but I'll still be between you and my Brothers. Anyway, I've never seen anyone "rage" on a club trying to get through an intersection...
+1 Never seen rage on a blocker ..... most just watch in awe!
+1 Between the cage and the brothers!
Sure, it's generally illegal and no one is above the law, but if I had never broken a law in my life I would a saint, a very bored saint. It's dangerous, you run the risk of a ticket, but I've never seen it happen.

I have seen it done many times, I personally would never be the blocker specially downhere with all the idiots on their cell phones while driving. As far as Rage I have also seen cagers get in between the motorcycle ride , seen some ofthe guys on the bike get loud with the guy in the cage and seen the guy in the cage get loud right back.

Gentlemen DONT think because you ride amotorcyle that you would be ammune from getting your *** kicked by some bad *** dude on a truck or car, respect others as you want to be respected... just my .02....

Illegal or not, you'll lose vs a 7000# pickup that decides to take his/her right of way.

Personally, I'm not sure I would sit there and watch as you took my green light\\; just because you're riding in a group doesn't make you any more special than anyone else on the road.

I've seen civilians, and I've seen city bus driver "rage" against a group".... and MORE importantly, I've seen cars not slow down, go through a green light, and scatter bikers in their wake...
&nbsp\\;
Block if you must.....but your pride won't win the court case
