I was a little bored today and did a search for 3d modeling specifically targeted to motorcycles. \\; What I found was an application called "3d Chop Shop". \\; It allows you to start with one of 8 HD models and then customize it as you see fit in a 3d environment. \\; I've had this idea in my head for a DWG with taildragger \\;fenders,etc. \\; \\; I was able to visualize it within the app. \\; It only took me 20 minutes or so to have a picure to work from WHEN \\;I decide to start building my vision. \\; \\; Here is a pic:
 \\;  \\;
 \\;
The software is not free ($50) and it's not worth downloading the trial because just about everything is disabled. \\;
 \\;
I obviously added the taildragger fenders front and rear, raked the front end, custom wheels, pipes, grips, foot controls, rotors, seat, and the list goes on. \\; \\; Let's see what you can come up with.
I cant see paying the $50. either. I use SolidWorks every day ,plus I have it at home. After modeling up machinery all day I dont feel like doing it for fun. That is cool though.
Would be nice if I could somehow cop the blocks of engine, trans and import to my AutoCAD. Have been working on a 3D of my custom frame, but the stock parts are a pain to detail.
 \\;
Maybe I missed something but I don't see any effective 3d there. It's nothing that photoshop wouldn't do better imho. Here on hdforms in the photoshop forum someone would put it together for you if you'd supply a good pic of the bike and then good pics of the add ons taken from the same angle.
 \\;
You can get The Gimp for free and it's a competitor to photoshop. Works pretty well and is really powerful. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
 \\;
If you have about $85 you can get photoshop Elements. Just the essential elements but you could do that.
 \\;
For about $100 you can get photoshop full version 6.0 or 7.0 on ebay. It will do more than Elements.
 \\;
The guys on our photoshopping area here will do it for you or teach you photoshop - your call.
