When my HOG membership exipires, I'm moving to AAA. I've heard' just one too many horror stories about the quality of HOG's roadside assistance plan.
&nbsp\\;
Here in Minnesota, AAA Plus RV cost $131 (Premier RV is $162). With HOG, I added $20 over my basic HOG membership to upgrade their Road America service one level.&nbsp\\;I think there was still another level for an additional 20 or 30 bucks. So dues for AAA are quite a bit higher than for HOG. Service should be better.

I was quoted something like $75 for coverage here in Illinois. The program was not called Plus RV.&nbsp\\;The benefit of AAA is one policy will cover&nbsp\\;both of my bikes. I'm even covered if I should be riding a friend's bike or a rental. HOG's&nbsp\\;program is bike specific.

&nbsp\\;
I highlighted the problem with this service:
&nbsp\\;
Who are Road America's service providers?
Just like all other motor clubs providing dispatched road service, Road America utilizes a network of thousands of independently owned and operated emergency road service and towing providers throughout the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
&nbsp\\;
That is HOG, Motow and the other groups do and they can't get driver's to do pick ups.
Now Road America does provide up to $200 per occurrence. That may help because of what the driver want to make for a tow job but if you need a tow of 50-100 miles then that $200 will run out fast depending what the per mile charge is.
&nbsp\\;
So let's say a driver wants $75 for the pick up and $5.00 per mile after first 10 miles. and you need to go 50 miles. So 40 miles X $5.00 per mile = $200 + $75 for the pick up....that's $275 but the allowance is $200...gues you pay the other $75.
&nbsp\\;
Granted I am speculating about what driver's will want to get paid but if I were the driver, i would try to get as much as possible.
