Anyone heard of dogs riding on bikes? Any opinions?
Pet Smart is selling Doggles . They are nice goggles for dogs...
And... T-Bags is selling Dog Carriers that let the dog stick his head out. as well as several companys that sell backpacks and front packs for your dog.
I know there have been a couple people pulled over in California for riding with dogs but have won in court... Anyone heard of anything in other states?
Our dog won't keep the goggles on. The carrier protects her pretty well....never complains. We haven't tried a helmut. I would bet she wouldn't go for it.....She seems to like it all natural. What kind (size) of dog do you have?
Buddy is a 20 lb Lhasa Apsos. We also have Baby a 20 lb Shitz Tzu and a dinky dog (Pom) named Pepi Jean... I plan on taking Bud and Baby in the T-Bag (different times) and Pepi can slip in the wifes jacket...
I was looking into a Beast Rider for Bud to sit in... but I need to save some money up for it...
I would love to take mine and I'm sure she would love it, but she is a handfull even at 55lbs and doesn't sit still with people or other dogs around. Very Hyper.
i also worry about dealing with keeping her in check once we stop.
She loves hangin her head out the window of the truck so I know she would love the bike if there was room.
I don't think it is the smartest or safest thing to do (dog on a bike) and I cringe when I see it. Owner's bike, owners dog. Another distraction that biker's don't need. Be a shame if an accident resulted because of possible inattention due to a dog. How bad would the owner feel then, especially if fido got hurt? I don't like to see cagers with a dog in the driver's seat either, another cringer! Dogs just don't belong on bikes and I would never contemplate it.
