one word of caution!! Don't use your real e-mail address. Use a fake one, many mail programs offer these I have several from earthlink. Once they have an actual email address they can get access to much of your personal info and you can get royally screwed. So beware!!
I recently sold my 1963 rigid. No advertisement. \\; Contacted a few freinds who are scattered all over the place and sold it to a friend in another state. \\; He sent the money sight unseen and arranged to have it picked up and transported from my local MOCO 3-4 months later. \\; In the meant time I had the money I needed, his newly purchased Pan was sitting safely in my secured barn waiting for him to \\; make his arrangements. He was more then happy when the bike finally made its way to his home 20. I purposefully didn't and won't advertise. \\; I don't trust anyone. Last thing I need is some thief CS(**** sucker) to try to come back and do the dirty.

It never ceases to amaze me to what extent a theif/scammer will go to. Buyer and seller beware.
Thats a bunch of crap!! That pisses me off that someone would say that they are deployed only to scam someone out of some money. I don't care if its only a buck, it is so wrong to pose as a solider!! I hope they meet a cold long painful death!
He's all over the place and the same scam under different names. here a copy and paste of the same bike and location from the Boston area craigslist\\;

Hello,
 \\;Thank you for your interest in my bike.This is a 2002 Harley Davidson Softail (FLSTF) Fat Boy,clean title,only \\; 2,400 miles on it,VIN# : 1HD1BMY142Y054035.  \\;Here you can find more pictures of the bike: http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/k...effWright2008/
(if the above link does not work copy and paste it into a new web browser window) \\;The bike has been well taken care of, always kept in the garage.Flawless exterior condition,no scratches and no dents.It has never been involved in an accident.The engine starts and drives like new and the paint looks great.It comes with US clear title which will be signed and notorized in the buyer's name.Have original manuals and all keys. \\;I'm an US Air Force Lieutenant currently stationed in United Kingdom.The bike is here with me. It was bought in the US and shipped to Europe, but it was never permanently registered here, the bike is still registered in the US.The bike is for sale locally as well, but there are slim chances of this to happen. In order to be able to register this bike here in UK the buyer would have to pay very high import/custom taxes that will double the price. So I decided to sell the bike back in the US. \\;The final price is $4,800.00 including shipping from UK to the US and delivery to your home address. \\;So if you decide to buy this bike or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible. \\;Thank you and have a great day

Well, I have been using my email address. I have been changing my password pretty regularly though. Hopefully this Nigerian Nightmare isn't bright enough to phish my info. \\; I hope so, anyway...
I saw a similar scam on craigslist but it was a custom chopper. \\; When you try to contact the guy he emails back how he is working offshore and will not be back for 4 weeks, blah, blah, blah. \\; It then goes pretty much like the air force line. \\; I tried to find the listing, but it appears it has been removed.
 \\;
I guess there are a ton of scammers out there.
A co-worker got scammed the same way about a year ago. He loaned his buddy 4k to buy a bike that was stuck at port in Bremerhaven, Germany. The seller was a service member and the Germans wouldn't let his bike into country (or so he said). The guy send the money and "poof" never heard from the seller again. I just laughed and told him I couldn't believe he fell for that.
