anyone use the Kriss double eagle modulator?
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I use the Double eagle on my bike.&nbsp\\; As others mentioned it gets the bike noticed.&nbsp\\; I also run HID spotlights.&nbsp\\;

Buddha,
How is the install?&nbsp\\; Any drilling or complications? For instance, I have the HD garage door opener installed on the bike, which works off the hi-lo beam switch.&nbsp\\; Any idea if the modulator interferes with that, since it also works via the hi-lo switch? The fairing dosen't have to come off does it? Thx in advance for your help.

Oh, that's what they are.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I thought the bikes were flashing me to go ahead and pull out.
&nbsp\\;
Maybe it's just me, but in Europe it's common practice to flash your lights to indicate to someone that you are gonna let them pull out of a side road. 25 years of riding over there has instilled that thought pattern so if I see flashing headlights I start looking for someone pulling out! I see 'em on Goldwings all the time and they do grab your attention, but I doubt if the average cage driver notices anything outside thier own little steel world.

no drilling but not sure how the wiring works with the opener.&nbsp\\; I took the fairing since it was going on a RG front end.&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;

&nbsp\\;
I had thought of getting this setup, that is until&nbsp\\;I actually saw one working.
It looked like a friggen firefighters parade was coming at me.
I mean people were actually pulling over for this guy.
For me, these are just far over the top, it was like this guy was making a public spectacle of himself.
Safety is good, but what's next...those spotlights they use are grand openings?
Or a deathray beam, so you can blind oncoming traffic?
Really, the thing was blinding to look at.
Do you really want people coming at you to be "blinded by the light"?

I agree.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; But wouldn't mind having something to use intermittently to get the attention of cagers.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I currently use the horn or flip the high beams on and off and some idiots could take this to mean I'm giving them permission to pull out in front of me.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Actually I think the best thing for visibility is the day glow vests or jackets.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; My wife keeps bugging me to get us a pair of the vests&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;but I'm having a real hard time with it.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I keep telling her that if people can't see the 3 headlights on our bikes why in hell would they see&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;a vest.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Gotta be a better solution.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;

They are legal in all 50 states. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\; By Federal law. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\; When you buy the modulator they include the code section of Federal Law that says it supercedes any state law to the contrary. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
Not in California. I just read it the other day in the CVC. Legal in the dayligh but not at night. Besides at least here in Ca the state law over rides the federal law in most cases.
I can understand the restriction on the modulators for night use - common sense.
But if you really think that state law overrides fed law, you need to look at a few things - fed civil rights laws striking down Jim Crow would be the loudest example, and then to bring it to the present day, the EPA breaking it off in CA butt with their attempt to regulate CO2 emissions from automobiles.
Sorry, that dog will not hunt.
It is a gray area in certain instances, but this particular one is not one of them.
If a vehicle meets the fed vehicle standards (FMVSS, if I remember correctly), then it is legal in all states.
To have it any other way invites utter confusion.

pococj, It's understandable why Bagman1 thinks CA law over rides federal law. Califonians are brought up to believe their state is more important than the other 49 and so the laws the rest of us observe don't apply to them.
Conversely, if they make a state law, they think the rest of the country should follow them.
