I'll check out the customs also but I wonder if they shut out the sound as well as foam.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; I just learned a trick for putting the foams into narrow ear canals.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Pulling the earlobe back opens the canal up.&nbsp\\; Tried it and it works great.&nbsp\\; My problem is I forget to put them in before I get going and then I don't feel like stopping.

The wind noise alone will cause premature hearing loss. If you also have loud pipes you are really doing a number on your hearing. I find it a lot more relaxing and enjoyable riding with ear plugs.
It&nbsp\\;may also&nbsp\\;keep me from having to wear a hearing aid at too early an age.

I work in an industrial plant and get regular hearing tests, and am losing some hearing.&nbsp\\; So I ride with foam plugs and defintly can tell a difference.&nbsp\\; My bike has stock pipes and it seems like its more the wind noise than the bike that causes ringing.&nbsp\\; I'll check out these.

I'll stick with the foam ones.Just bought a box of E.A.R. classics.I use them on the bike and for work.I think these are the best&nbsp\\;of the &nbsp\\;foam type.
&nbsp\\;
If the ones from Wally World work,they are a big savings over the custom molded ones that are sold at rallies for $60+.

I use noise cancelling earphones.&nbsp\\; The entire until cost a little over $100 but they do a great job...until the batteries run out.

I gotta say I don't think I've ever met anyone who wears earplugs when they ride...can't think of why I'd need them?
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Some guys I shoot with don't see the need for them either.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I always wear them when I'm shooting...haven't fired any rounds from the bike lately, tho...[8D]

To keep from going deaf, ya nut.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Especially after riding on the interstate, if I don't wear ear plugs my ears will ring and be fuzzy/muffled feeling for two days.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I'd like to still be able to hear past 55.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;

After tears of shooting, truck driving, and motorcycling and winking at all the sissys who worry about their hearing, I now have only about half my hearing left. Ironically, noise bothers me more now. So I wear earplugs when I ride, as well as other times that noise is an issue, like concerts, races, etc. You couldn't tell me anything, just as I can't tell anyone here.

The earplugs I use most frequently come from Walgreens. They're Macks brand, color green and blue, shaped like mushroom lights. They have a removable cord to keep them together. and are very comfortable for allday riding, at least for me. $3 or so. Washable.

I can hear and discern traffic noise better with than without because they filter out wind and road noise, especially with my impaired hearing.
