RE: HARLEY DAVIDSON RIDING BOOTS ARE CHEAP MADE IN CHINA JUNK

Some pretty good stuff comes from China these days. Get used to it.
 \\;
Get real. I'm not going to buy anything that supports a country that wants to kill me! I too look at everything I buy and unless it's totally impossible to get the same product made in America, or any country for that fact except China, will I buy a product made in \\;red China!
RE: HARLEY DAVIDSON RIDING BOOTS ARE CHEAP MADE IN CHINA JUNK
I don't know who said it first, but I have heard many times over that China is going to take over the United States, and never fire a shoot, and I be d@mned if they aren't trying to do so.

It's nice to buy American when possible (I do), but like it or not, China has joined mainstream society. The Beijing Olympics start in 2 days. Assuming they don't screw that up, there will be no stopping them.

I have a pair of Chippewa brand boot, there great boots. I believe we the American people have done this to ourselves. We as the American worker want larger and larger wages/saleries coupled to bigger and bigger benifit packages, while as the American consumer we want lower prices across the board for everything we need to live. Seems at some point the manufacturer has no choice but to use cheaper matrerials and cheaper labor or close their doors. I have often wondered why it is that we the American consumer tell the world about how good lets say Toyota cars are, we buy them and state they are much better quality cars etc... we talk about how they are assembled here in the USA.........by us............why didn't we assemble cars with quality for lets say GM.........here in the USA? \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
Arn't Red Wing footware products made in USA too? \\; I'm gonna look into that for my boot search.
Well, I recall losing a bit of money buying a Chevrolet products over the years. \\; I finally broke down 3 years ago and bought a Nissan and it's been a pretty darn good truck. \\; I still have a Chevrolet car now, but only drive it occasionally. \\; Anyway, I agree and GM can build a good product if they wanted too and I'd buy if it were totally manufactured and built in this country. \\; So today we have a choice to buy an "American" car that has the majority of parts made in Mexico (Thanks NAFTA), Honduras, korea, and probably China, etc - or we have Nissan or Toyota for example that have the drive train made in Japan (proven to make some quality things) and built here in the USA \\; \\; ...... \\; which is the less of 2 evils? \\; With the whole gas prices these days, GM could made a few new model cars built completely in the USA. \\; I would think the support would be there even if the price was more and the quality was the same or exceeded the Japan cars. \\; I doubt it would ever happen, the CEO's and all make way too much money, huge bonuses, perks, etc, they don't care. \\; Manufacturing is important to have and keep in America ..... for many reasons ....

I went shopping for new riding boots this weekend and was amazed to find most boots are now made in China!
True enough. Let your $$ do your talking.. buy the products you like that are made in a country you approve of. If their sales fall off, then maybe they'll make a change.

I finally broke down 3 years ago and bought a Nissan and it's been a pretty darn good truck. \\;\\\\\\;
I recently saw an article in the paper about how Ford is starting up the Fiesta car line again (yeah a piece of **** car... I know). They are going to build in in MEXICO.. and at the same time are closing down plants here in the states. \\;\\\\\\; Toyota and Nissan on the other hand build there cars here. So which car manufacturer is more American?
You buy a GM or Ford or Crysler you line the pockets of the fat cat CEO's who are cutting jobs here and sending them overseas. You buy a Jap brand car and American workers benefit. How you spend your dollars is your choice.
The problem with American run companies seems to be greed at the top... and, frankly treason - for selling out the American people.
PS. I wear Red Wings.. good boot - they last for a lot of years. \\; AND I ride in the winter in Colorado without any problems with steel toe boots holding onto the cold.
