Default Deep loose sand

Okay, who's ridden in the stuff with a 700+lb motorcycle?&nbsp\\; Had to make a u-turn into a grass parking lot a few days ago through a 15-20 foot long sand trap, deep tire tracks from cars, etc.&nbsp\\; Had a foot down, tire spinning, bike sideways and leaning some.&nbsp\\;

Honestly, I liked it.&nbsp\\; Felt the weight, proportions, and balance of the bike in a whole new way.&nbsp\\; 6500 miles in just over three months, I can't get enough.&nbsp\\; This might be love.&nbsp\\;

I've ridden in a lot of sand on the Red River back in my youth/dirtbike days.&nbsp\\; I avoid it like the plague on my ultra. &nbsp\\; If I remember right the way to do it is "blast" through the stuff.&nbsp\\; Wet, packed sand, i.e. river bed, it a lot better that the loose sugar sand.&nbsp\\; Watch out for quick sand.&nbsp\\; Glad you are enjoying the bike.

Not real easy with a skinny front tire. Turning can be tough.

Road on the beach at Daytona bike week.&nbsp\\; The skinny front tire on the Softail Custom sunk in a soft spot but I managed to hold it up.&nbsp\\; Was hard to get it going even with the 200 tire on the rear.

yeah Ive done it but not without dabbing my foot
&nbsp\\;
best technique to ride in loose sand is keep nearly all your weight on the rear, relax your grip and&nbsp\\;let the front wheel float around, and keep the power on

that being said its easier on a dirt bike where you can slide back, not so easy to do that on a FL with solo saddle and running boards!

Very true, unless you want to stop fast, rode my quad in the Oregon dunes for 15 years with no rear brake,
now that I put one on I forget to use it.........
