What color bike should I buy?
What accessories should I ad?
Etc, etc, etc.
I look at those questions as Ice Breakers, and the tip of the ice burg. They could start some good conversation depending on those that respond. How would we everntually learn what color bike is faster, I know it's a joke, but in time, it becomes part of what you have heard, and you can say "I see you got one of the fast ones". Maybe a certian color fades more in the sun and someone could pass that one on, maybe the black bikes show water spots too much, there is a ton of information that can go the way of humor or actual information, hopefully both to make the thread useful.

Accessories, same thing, certian ones won't go on the bike, or if you put that on you won't be able to put this on later should you want it. You can get it cheaper at XYZ.com.

Being upset at; "the basic seen it 1000 times posts" just means you have been around a long time, or you have a short fuse.

The easiest way to deal with this is to not click on posts titled "What color bike should i get?"

Hey Guys give us a break...........I'm getting back into motorcycling after taking almost 30 years off. Truthfully when I got my Sportster I looked for the kick starter for about five minutes before the guy came over and said "push the button here" Fast forward to today after a month on this forum and I just finished a complete oil change myself. Probably not a big feat by your standards but it the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest for me. All I can say is THANKS! Sorry if we "newbies" are boring you guys to death but this a lot of fun for me right now.

BTW.......Redline Shockproof Heavy in the trans is definitely "the bomb"

I'm going riding.........................[sm=biker.gif]

I agree with you....if you can't come here to ask a question, any question without someone calling ya stupid or borring because you asked then, f--k them all. I'm no machanic by a long shot so I may just come on here and ask what wrench to use or some stupid question like that myself. Or which way does this or that bolt turn counterclockwise or not etc. Or should I go with this or that paint ,jeez...give me a break there buddy and calm down. There I just got my quota of posts up By the way I still can't make up my mind on which seat to buy...I have it down to the Mustang with Driver Backrest or Without Driver Backrest. Which do you all think...backrest or not. I ride two up most of the time. Hope this is a good question[sm=roll.gif]

Anyone who has a question or comment should just go ahead and ask. It doesn't matter if you're a newbie, or an old guy. Someone will take the time to reply, and if someone is annoyed, well, that's on them. Either they'll get over it...or they won't.

I welcome all questions. Some times when it gets slow here I wish somebody would ask me what color bike to buy because I would volunteer to drive over to their place and help them go pick it out. There are a few things that bother me here though so here goes:

There are rules on this forum. How many people read them?
Silly questions don't bother me as long as they aren't posted in "New Members" "General Harley Chat" and "Off Topic" at the same time. How many answers do you want.
Picture Posting: Please read the rules for size at the top of every forum on this site and make sure your sig picture is correct. I don't mind helping anyone re-size that doesn't understand how to do it but I hate opening a thread to find an 8 x 10 sig pig that all you can see on a normal size computer screen is the left hand grip.
I have a thread posted at the top of the New Members and General Harley Chat forums explaining how to post and re-size pictures. Please read it and then pm me with any questions you may have. My photo bucket and imageshack accounts are full of bikes that don't belong to me.
This forum is not Ebay. If your first post is "2006 SE Ultra for sale" then it's gonna get booted until you read and understand the rules posted at the top of the classified forums.

Thank you for listening to your admin rant a little. Now lets have some fun.

Thanks for the post on rules.

I have been here for over a year and I still read it all.

A refresher course sometimes doesn't hurt at all, in fact it helps.
