+2 That is the proper way to down shift! And, I do that on every bike I ride that doesn't have a slipper clutch.

There's nothing wrong with blipping the throttle during a downshift. There's a whole bunch of parts on your bike saying "thank you", and are looking to last a lot longer because of it.
Besides, it sounds cool, and thats reason enough.

I even do the blip while using the front brake.

I do it because it was recommended to me by the dealer and a fellow owner.&nbsp\\; I was irritated by the cluncking noise the gears made when engaging into the next lower gear.&nbsp\\; It does seam to help.&nbsp\\; Now my only complaint is that it seams to want to pop out of 1st every now and then if I do not ride the clutch some.
