I guess I've been doing it wrong all these years. Don't plan on changing now.

used to have to drive '60s deuce and a halfs that way.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\; LOL.
Ever turn the ignitions off on these thing going down the road for 15-20 seconds and then turn it back on? Big loud bang sent more than more than one person into a duck walk. Lucky I didn't get shot at.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;
Been blipping for a long time now no problems noted..
Used to do that with the old farm trucks till we grenaded a couple mufflers and got the ol'mans boot in our ***.The little blip downshifting seems smoother to me and thats what its about whatever works best with your bike to keep it smooth to cause less wear on drivetrain.

How many of you blip the throttle before you hit the kill switch to shut down? My dad used to get so mad at me for that.

unless you are downshifting to early , there is no reason to blip the throttle except to hear the pipes&nbsp\\;

What he's going is called "rev matching" and is totally appropriate and a good thing to do!
&nbsp\\;
+1 match the engine speed to the back wheel for the lower gear your going into, especially when your coming down fast or when its wet.

If you mean you don't rely on compression to slow you but rather brake, so do I.However for me it's 70 percent braking with front brake instead.
