The '09 Sportsters are out....at least here in Boise. Salesman sold one already! At Midnight on the 22nd (or maybe it's the 21st) the '09s will be on HD web site.

You can order a 2009 anytime you want. I ordered a 2009 FLHX a month ago.. They even had a production and estimated delivery date. Fully refundable deposit of $250.00.

Fella at the dealership told me yesterday&nbsp\\;that the first shipments (above and beyond the Sportys) will begin arriving 2 weeks after the 22nd.

Greetings,
&nbsp\\;
It'll be quick unless it's going to be a repeat of the Rockers last year. I put my deposit down July '07 and got mine this May! Ridiculous

Take this as 2nd hand info, but one of the salesmen at the dealer told me last week that the '09's were in crates out back and they couldn't even crack them open until the 22nd.&nbsp\\; I hadn't asked, it was volunteered.&nbsp\\; Doesn't matter much to me anyhow as I plan on keeping my '06 for a few more years unless something REALLY amazing comes out to seduce me away.&nbsp\\;

If you really want an 09', either have the loan check from the bank, or prove to them you have the cash. Go in and tell them what you want, and that you have the money, and when they get it to give you a call. I did that in 06' for an 07' deluxe. At first they tried to sell me an 06', but when I started to walk out they took me out back and showed me all the 07's they had in the back shed and a day later I rode home on what I wanted.

The 09's will be in dealership this week.&nbsp\\; I have set aside three techs to prep them as soon as they arrive.

Now here comes the high level stuff.&nbsp\\; Harley-Davidson is working hard to achieve a market in which the motorcycles sell for MSRP.&nbsp\\; What this means is that the Motor Company does not want over or under pricing of the motorcycles.&nbsp\\; They have taken steps to ensure consistent pricing going into the 09 model year.&nbsp\\; Dealers who routinely discount thier bikes will receive less of them.&nbsp\\; The 09's will arrive in smaller shipments to keep remaining 08 pricing strong.&nbsp\\; If there is a surge in dealer inventory expect temporary layoffs and slowdowns at the plants to keep demand strong.&nbsp\\; Harley-Davidson knows that demand not quantity is the future of thier company.&nbsp\\; If you don't believe this look at numbers shipping to Europe and Canada in the 08 model year.

Well I was thinking of buying an 08 if they offered discounts.&nbsp\\; If they don't I can wait a couple of more years.&nbsp\\; I think Harley is really going to screw themselves.&nbsp\\; Oh well nothing says I have to ride a Harley.
