It was easier to remove the baffles out of the SE mufflers and just drill the side holes out till I got the tone I was looking for. Then I had to rejet to make the bike richer.
Used a 3' piece of rebar and a sledgehammer on many stock mufflers. {Make sure to have someone sit on your scooter when you whack it though.} As far as losing pressure it will run just a smidge on the lean side, but if you don't change the air intake it won't need to be rejetted or EFI reprogrammed.
let me know if you do it I want to do the same thing on my FXDC.
Ebay has them cheap sometimes if ya keep a eye on them set of S.E. went for under 100 last week
I have an 07 lowrider with the centers punched out. \\; Shortly after I had a dyno run and AF ration was as close to perfedt as could be. \\; Bike sounds a bit better. \\; No recommendations here just my experience.
take off the rear section of the exhaust remove any screws or rivets and knock the baffles out with steel rebar or pipe. then either leave them out or cut them in half and put em backin.It will sound bad *** and run fine. \\;
I've considered drilling my twin pipes on the fatboy. How do you think they would sound? Do you get any fuel odor from the pipes after the mod?
Thanks

The bit will drill a pilot hole through the plug and the saw part will cut the plug out. Used the same procedure on the factory mufflers on my 94 FXDL, and my 08 FXDF. Worked fine both times, no problems.

I pull the mufflers off the bike and then give them the rebar treatment..Done it several times.
I'm pretty sure the baffles on the newer bikes are welded. Don't use a pipe you will rip up in inside of the pipe. get a hole saw and a extension and drill it out. did it that way on my '13 fld and my '07 fxstc.
