Rode some 09's
Yesterday I went to Bike Fest in Carlisle Pa. A local dealer there had the HD reps with a bunch of 09's for free demo rides.
I rode a Streetglide, Nightrod, and Screamin Eagle FatBob

The Streetgilde was ok but it looks strange with the exhaust coming out under the bike and then turning back. They also raised the bike so the exhaust would have more clearance. The front is also raised due to the larger diameter rim. The tire itself is the same height as the 08 but since the rim is bigger it raises the front. I always liked that the Streetglide sat low. Now its not so low anymore.

The Nightrod was fast as hell and the SE Fatbob was strong.

They were led 30min. rides. You had some short opportunitys to jump on it some.

They also had a SE Ultra, Crossbones, Heritage, Sportsters, and a few other 09's

I was thinking of getting rid of my Nightrain and getting a Streetglide. But after looking at the 09's and riding one. I think I will wait.

I was at the HD dealer yesterday and they said that the 17 inch wheel in front had a lower profile tire . So same height!

It's called aspect ratio. The tire height doesn't get taller just because you put a larger wheel on. The overall height can stay the same but there is less sidewall rubber. This gives the wheel / tire that racy or custom look as opposed to heavy and fat.

The seat height is the same at 26.3 and the ground clearance is the same at 4.7 so the 09 is the same as the 08 in terms of hieght and ground clearance. What is likely is the exhaust sits a little higher or something which gives the illusion of the bike sitting a little higher. I think the lean angle is slightly better on the 09 so this makes sense. I wouldn't worry about that becuase most likely the stock exhaust will be in the trash heap anyway. \\;
