Yep, ya gotta be a little patient and make some offers. Still, if I bought new I'd want to know more about that new 09 frame etc. There can't be that much diff in price between an 08 and an 09??
PastorTom, Don't know what part of the country youre in, but the deals are definately out there right now on 08s. I'm in the Northeast, Last night I bought an 08 Ultra with ABS for 21K. Dealership was advertising them at 21K with ABS, 20K without - they had five of each. At those prices, I'd seriously consider new over used.
I believe Ultras and Classics are about a grand more for 09.

I looked at an 08 at the local dealer.. was at 21k..
I really don't wanna make payments on nothin.. \\;
I hate to owe anybody.. But I guess if I am gonna consider an 08
and havta borrow a few$$ might as well order a 09 ??
Like 74_Ironhead and JBaker said, consider paying into a new 09 and finance what little would remain. You could get that new frame which should make a big difference in performance & efficiency, as well as long haul comfort, and the added 70 lbs extra carrying capacity. If there was no significant redesign of the touring bikes, the smart thing would be to scoop a still new 08 or nearly new 07, obviously.
And just a foot note..
One of the reasons all this is an issue to begin with..
I have never in over 30 years onna Harley ever bought a bike from a dealer,
have never taken a bike to a dealer for service or let anyone else put a wrench on one of my bikes..
This getten old thing bites..[&o]
