Don't know of any "bad" years, but 20K should easily get you a good "07 or possibly even close to&nbsp\\;a new "08.&nbsp\\; Whatever you get, I don't think you will have any regrets.

If I was that close I'd make a big down payment on a new one and make some small payments, especially with the redesigned '09 touring model.

I agree with buying new. If you have that much money ready, I'd suggest going 2008 or 2009. Deals are out there on the 2008 models.

Friend of mine went from a Fat Boy to a Road King Classic. He now owns a Road Glide SE and has said its the most comfortable fun ride hes had yet. Hes 50 and rides with his wife about 70% of the time. You might want to test ride a few before making the hard decision.

Considering the new frame, swingarm, motor mounts etc on the 09's, I'd have to think real hard about it. I think I'd either go new 09 or save $$ by dropping way back to a low mile RUB type five to seven year old low miler. Maybe around a 2002. $.02.

As you know, sometimes those low mile RUB bikes are loaded up with extras. My 02 Deuce, sig below, came with $5k in extras counting the factory custom paint. Bought it 2 years ago for $12k, had just 3600 miles on it. $.02.

PS The original owner had receipts for $23k for the bike and accessories. He lost $11k on it obviously.

and wan't more $$ for em then there close to bein worth..
