Whenever I see someone in chaps it reminds me of Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Gay stud leather band type stuff. They look perfectly normal when it's cold and wet out but really queer at 70 degrees F and sunny.
I used to wear them all of the time, seens since the weather has gotten a little warmer I don't wear chapps anymore, I still see a lot of bikers around here wearing them.
So, after researching this chaps and fingerless glove thing I have come to the conclusion that I am either smart or gay!
When it is hot, I were fingerless gloves on the Deuce so I do not get calluses but on the Ultra I do not need to. When it is cold, I will wear my chaps along with my leather jacket to keep the chill off. If I am normal great. If I am guy, just don't tell my girl. I don't think she would appreciate that!
When you see me rolling in at 35 deg, I guarantee you that I will have my chaps on!
i always liked chaps. from a practical view leather protects, and chaps give your n*ts room to breath (leather pants work better for females than males)
however i am 280 lbs and in chaps and a leather vest i look like a sofa with eyes

That's one of the reasons I started wearing them...at first it was leather overpants, but my sac was sweating in an unholy way. Take out the crotch and *** and my nether-region has some much needed breathing ability. I wear mine every day because I have to dress somewhat nice to work...I don't want my pants to be filthy when I walk in the office and put the work shirt on. Plus, they make a hell of a difference when it cools off.
