NEEDED: Gold Wing De-coder ring
Parked in front of a sandwich shop in Cooke City, Montana. As some of you are familiar, there isn't a lot in Cooke City, except wide open scenery. I walk outside with my sandwich to find this monstrosity of fiberglass parked next to my E-Glide. It has some kind of fancy GPS (don't know what) hanging off it, and appears to have more gadgets than the space shuttle. If it has an actual engine, you can't see it. Despite the abundance of space available, this bike is parked so close to my right side that it is obvious I won't be able to lift my bike up enough to get it off the kickstand. The guy that owns it is standing on the steps, talking on a cell phone. When he hangs up, I look the situation over and remark to him "Wow....that's pretty tight!" The guy says "Thanks".
I guess in the Gold Wing world, "Tight" means something like "Cool". If I had a GW de-coder ring, perhaps I could have been more diplomatic. Instead, it went something like this:
"Actually, what I meant was, it looks like your bike is trying to f#%$ my bike. Would you like to move it, or shall we see if the GPS knows when the bike is sideways?" He moved it, but acted pissy. So much for diplomacy, I guess.

Man, good thing his GF or OL wasn't standing too close. Lord only knows what the "tight" comment could have started.
Next time, call Itileman, and have him do that Mont. interpretting thing.
Not sure he knows "Winger" jive, but at least he knows the area, and could hide you out til the smoke clears.

I have a friend with a "wing", and he left it in my garage overnight last weekend. Said I could ride it anytime I wanted. I hopped on the thing, turned on the key and looked for the start button....I never could find that darn thing....
