I agree with a lot of the other answers. People watch to many old biker movies. They see bike then biker. I am always surprised how long it takes someone to ask me a question about the bikes. They look at the bikes--they look at me--they look at the bikes and they look at me. They self debate sometimes forever and when I get tickled at them and finally smile --they approach.

Im riding home yesterday and hadda stop for a train.. Kid onna scooter pulls up behind me. I see in my mirrors he doesn't have any eye protection on. I have my bike on the kickstand, so I turn around and motion him to pull along side me so I could tell him he needs some, because it is an expensive fine. He gets this look of terror on his face like I am either gonna chop him up and eat him, or Maybe hit him with a Bible?.....I am a kinda big guy..... 6ft 4 and 260, lots of Tattoo's, Long hair, and I was wearin my colors, etc.. ....I dunno.... But he spins his scooter around and blasts off the other direction.. Whatcha Think?
When you turned around to call him up next to you, he saw your riding glasses and suddenly realized he forgot his, so he darted back home to get 'em...

I got pulled over on the sporty when I was about 17 for not wearing eye protection. The cop was real smart mouthed and nasty about it but no ticket. I figured he was jealous because he didn't have a harley.

I don't think you're unfriendly...I'd have to know you to have that opinion.
But on the other hand, if I rode up behind you my first impression is that you are big, hairy, wear leather...and maybe a little ugly...but not unfriendly though.
