The bike dyno'd at 90 hp and 105ft/lbs torque. That was with Samson fishtail slip on mufflers. I just ordered the V&H pro hs pro pipe and will be once again getting it dyno'd on the 24th. I was having a problem with stalling at lights and stop signs, so i had the stock map reinstalled (for free) and i am waiting for the V&H to arrive. There is a great difference between the stock 88 and the 103 but i cant speak for the 95. Its all about torque! While hp is good, torque will definitly make you smile.

Would this one be better? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...QQcmdZViewItem
If that was silver I'd pick it up in a heartbeat! Take that, get the heads bored out by Big Boyz (sponsor here), and get their recommendation on the right cams to use with that setup. You could in theory get a nice 95" build for under $1k (maybe $1500 if you don't do the work yourself).

Right on brother.

I have a SE 103 EFI kit on the way in about a week for my 05 WG. My dealer had a real good deal on it and I agree with you. Not knocking 95 or 98, but high compression risks detonation, heat, etc.. And I know there are some high quality / informed 95 / 98 builders on this forum, they do a great job & I commend them.

Why I like the 103:

1. Makes easy torque, torque is king.
2. Low compression = no detonation, easy on starter clutch.
3. Backed up & serviced by Harley dealers.
4. Heat less of a concern than a high comp. 95 / 98.
5. SERT dyno tune gets about 100 / 100 easily.
6. SE 103 script on the heads looks cool IMO.
7. Mild head work & cams gives big potential.

Also, I am adding the Premium Oil cooler.

Ride on.

103 with CNC Heads...If you're gonna go...Go BIG.

JMHO, but I'm biased! Am breaking in my 103 now. About 170 mi so far & was on highway today at 75 mph, rpm<3000 & she was ready to dash. Can't want for a couple of hunderd more. You will run out of testosterone before you run of of pull!!!

Getting the 93 or 95 kit in for under a grand sounds nice but does anyone have any words about the reliability of these engines???? Thats real important too.

Just my two cents worth. As someone already pointed out, the 103 is going to be significantly more expensive than the 95 since you have to split the case. So, if you're going to spend the extra money to have the case split and machined to accept the bigger cylinders you may as well step up to the HD 113 kit. It's not going to cost you that much more money than doing the 103.

Hey if we are going to the 113 why not just yank the motor and put a Jims 120 in it. Now that's what I am talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hold on now, I can only count to 103 so I can't go bigger than that.

Plus, where's the guy putin in 2 cents, I could use that.

Amen. These are the exact reasons I went with the 103. And "easy torque" is an understatement.... The bike pulls (and I mean PULLS) at just about any RPM in any gear. I can't wait to get mine completely broken in and see what she can really do!
