I am wondering what you guys do with your jackets/helmet's when you get somewhere and walk around.Do you somehow lock them on your bike? Please bare with me as I know I am asking some dumb newby questions..
Thanks--
My jacket I put in the saddlebag and the helmet I hang on the mirror. I've never had anything stolen. I guess that's the advantage of not having a really snazzy helmet.
In 30 years I have never had anything stolen off my bike but thats how old my jacket is so I don't think anyone would want it.
I do have a 3' cord lock I have used a couple of times that I leave on my bike all the time. My wife does have a $400 harley jacket and a $200 helmet so I have put the cord through the sleeve and helmet ring when in the mall. I hate carring stuff.
It depends on where I'm parking the bike. If at home or at any any place related to motorcycling, like a stealer, parts store, or Legion Riders meeting, I leave them on the bike. Any place other than that I put them in the saddle bags or take them with me.

For less than $20 you can get a helmet lock that fits on a crash bar or frame down tube that will hold two helmets. Never leave a leather jacket on your bike unless you want to give it way. My goes in my locking saddle bag. The one time I left one on my Super Glide on a city street it was stolen. Believe it or not I actually got it back when the thief wore it and someone I knew recognized it!
I always carry/wear my jacket.... I got a $9.00 pistol cable lock for the helmet - it hooks the D ring to the sissy bar. I never cared for the helmet lock on the frame.
I agree with Defender - depends on where I park the bike.
I almost never park the bike where I can't see it. If I wear a helmet it is placed on the mirror and not hanging by the strap. My jacket is hung on the windshield soft side to the lexan. I have never had anything stolen off of the bike yet. I know there are thieves out there but usually someone is watching the bikes.
