I ride two up with my wife. She just likes being there and looking around. Sometimes she asks why I'm going so slow (already at 10 over)? So, you have to keep 'em happy ya know.
If riding with slow pokes, maybe suggest a destination (for smoke, drink, ****, halfway point, whatever) then if you get there first......... relax.
What a PITA! All I want is someone to ride with that doesn't want to stay below 50mph. We've had a change-over in our group and everyone is soooooo slow. I finally got my wife out riding again and she rides slow!! It seems I am always sitting between 4th and 5th and no one accelerates with any guts at all. My neighbor asks me go riding and for the sake of getting out there I go, but he putts around at 45-50 and I have to wait for him to catch up 1/4 mile from any red light.
I'm no speed demon, but I want to go 60 in a 55 or 70 in a 65, not 50 in either. I'm getting pretty close to going back to solo riding exculsively (except the wife I guess) unless a "special" someone appears and wants to ride a little more aggressively.
How patient are you with slow riders?
Pretty funny. I go for rides with these two guys and we actually have a lot of fun... just not that often... keep looking.
On a sidebar to that... yesterday I was out tooling around solo. I was into southern Vermont and I came up behind another rider for about 5 miles. We stop at a signal and being the "everyones friend" kinda guy I am, I pull right up beside him at the light and give him a nod. The guy just sits there stoned faced, looking ahead. lol. So I rolled the poochie and let out a little bark... lol... and the guy just looks at me. Next thing I know, we're doing 80-85 in a 45 zone. I pulls up beside him on a straight run and he's laughing his *** off now. We slows down and stop at a stop sign. It was definately a different attitude and conversation after that... we were both having a pretty good time.

...I love days like that.
That's just plain funny!

I just smile and leave them behind, meet up with them down the road. I ride hard, and this is why I generally ride alone.
