Just curious is anyone here actually a HD tech??? I was thinking of going to school to get certified. And wanted to see how you like it? Pay good? Any benifets?
Since no one else has answered I'll give you my $.02
A couple of people have posted here that have attended such a school. A couple have said they couldn't afford to pay back their student loans with what they were being paid to start.
It takes a while to pay back $30,000.
If this is what I wanted to do, I would put in applications at the local dealerships or Indy's for any position. You may start out sweeping floors and some gophering but you will be able to work your way up to mechanic. On the job training, under the right circumstances, can be better experience.
On the other hand if you decide this is not for you, walk away. And no $30,000 to be repaid...
One other thing..if you go to work for a dealership and proven your worth (by showing up on time and doing what's asked) the dealership can and will send you to factory schools...
