Times have changed and people are different now. When I was a younger man (boy?) I used to run South Capitol Street in D.C. like it was my turf. Loads of good times, lots of scrapes but the penalty was usually maxed out at ***-whipping. Now, tangling with a stranger unless absolutely necessary almost always carries potential for dying. Unless cornered, I'll try to calm things down or unass the area. I don't trust a stranger to stay within bounds and the penalty for misjudging is too high.
Here's where I would usually mention what caliber handgun has killed more people than any other.....but I won't. If you're depending on caliber to get it done, you need to rethink. It's all about shot placement. I've worked over more than my share of dead bodies killed with .22 and .25 caliber pocket pistols.
OK,we are getting off topic here but I can't resist: .357 Magnuns have the highest % rate of 1 shot stoppages/kills right or wrong?
Geez Rawhide, you really like this tough guy stuff. I think you and your buddies should start your own "behind the keyboard TOUGHGUY CLUB". Those who brag about it usually don't have it!!!! It's the quiet ones that you have to worry about. It's easy talkin shat on a forum, in real life I have the feelin most of the "keyboard toughguys" would be changin their diapers or trying to find their teeth so the orthodontist could cobble together their smile.
I don't have the slightest idea about where you are coming from.I don't think violence is always the answer.I don't recall ever bragging about anything.I do believe that people that stick up for their rights are the same kind of people that made the USA a great country.I work for a living and still have my own teeth, stop by sometime and I'll show you the callouses on my hands.
Bottom line for me... unless you threaten me or mine with great bodily injury, I am gonna walk away. I play for keeps. Dying is easy....it's living that's a bitch.
I tend to get upset when people seem to be deliberately trying to kill me. Everyone screws up sometimes. Everyone has an "oops" moment now and then. In those cases, I just shake my head and keep riding.
One incident, many years ago... I was riding to work, in morning traffic. The woman next to me decide to change lanes - occupying the same space as me. As she started to move over, I beeped the horn, and she moved back. I backed off to give her room to get in, but she stayed in her lane. Later, I was right next to her again. She looked over at me, and started to move into my lane. She got close enough that I punched her window, and she moved back. Again, I backed off to try to let her in, but she stayed where she was. When the same happened a third time, I was done with her. At the next red light, I dropped the kickstand, walked over to her car, and beat her driver's side window with my helmet until it broke, showering her with glass... then I got back on my bike and went to work.
I'm much more laid back now. I doubt I'd do anything like that... might end up getting shot.

As an overweight, out of shape, old man I don't have that problem any more. I suppose my standard would still be the same. Threaten me with harm and get close enough for me to hit you and you're going to get hit. I haven't had anyone cross the line in 20 years though. It could be the rest of the world changed, but I'm inclined to think I did.
