Default Maximum Weight Loads

Does anyone know where I can see each models maximum carrying weight? I want to get the right bike for me based on my size and potential passenger. I weigh 350 and my wife weighs 180. I will be the only rider 90% of the time but I want to make sure we don't run in to problems when she is on the back. Also, would changing the rear shocks out to heavy duty aftermarkets be beneficial as well? I am leaning towards something in the Softail family, either the Fatboy or the Corssbones.

I haven't been on their website for a while, but have you tried the Harley home page, www.harleydavidson.com. they might have something for ya.

I got the cross bones and i think it is rated for around 400 lbs (give or take) after you fill up the tank. But then again They really dont say if that is with deducting the passenger pillion and sissy bar, foot pegs, sadlle bags, depends how **** someone wants to get with exact weights.

Ditto on the HD site. They have full spec's for each model. Yes, if need be, there are aftermarket shocks to beef up the suspension. If you're buying new, you can ask those questions when you go looking.

You sound like us,our weights are within 5 pounds each. We have an 08 Ultra Classic and by the Harley specs, with just us and nothing else we are over the weight. What we done is air up the rear shocks to the max and we have no problems. We occasionally carry some stuff with us but we have only been gone for the day and only carried some drinks and a change of clothes and an extra pair of shoes. No problems so far.
