Angry $150 lesson learned

I moved the bike in the garage two days ago and left the switch on and killed the battery. It will not take a charge so I had to replace it so I can get up to the 105th tomorrow. I hope I learned my lesson

How old was your battery? Brand?

You might consider purchasing a battery tender. http://www.batterytender.com
A great product and helps keep your battery in top condition. Of course it won't help you if you forget to turn it on.

It sounds like your battery was hooped anyway. You should be able to drain any battery and then recharge it. Leaving the switch on was not your problem. The battery was done. Better to fix it now in the garage than be on a ride and have it go somewhere inconvenient.

well its nice to always be able to pop the clutch if you have to , its alot easier to push start a bike by yourself then a car. ive done both. both still suck.

The garage is a great place to break down. Last battery that went on me I was about thirty miles from nowhere. Found out I couldn't get here from there.

Sounds like it was ready to go anway. Better that it crapped out at home than on the way.
See you at the 105th!!
I will be the one on the HD Fatboy!!
