Thanks,been down that one lots of times,more often coming back inland from Florence these days to head back North for home after a long day ride down the coast.
Last time I was down there I took 36 inland,fun backroad.

Could you maybe make some spacers and use longer bolts to move it out a bit?

All kidding aside, I would check my swing arm bushings and hardware. Maybe you've got too much side to side wobble.

holy crap!

i would check the wiring underneath the fender for being rubbed through by the tire.

I like your idea of putting some type of plate there. Does the same potential exist on both sides, or just the right?

I'm going to try some differant things this winter. I really like the way the bags sit. I't can't happen on the left side, the axle is well inside of the support because no brake on that side. Left side is further out due to barke. I'm worried the bags might look funny if stuck out to far. I'm very **** about things looking semitrical, (can't spell though). Thanks for the ideas, I will for sure, find a way to avoid that happening again.
