Is it possible to set up the Smart Siren II to where the siren is muted, but it still sends out a page when the security system is tripped? I like the idea of having the guilty party not know the alarm has been tripped when I walk up to the bike with a few questions!
I'm just pulling this from memory in regards to the instructions / manual.............I don't think that's possible. The only option I could possibly see is to separate the siren halves and actually disconnect the siren wires themselves. But this is just a speculation.
I apologize for changing the subject slightly, but I want to buy that siren with pager. A website said siren $85, and pager $70. The dealer says the $70 pager is for backup, and the pager kit is $195. Could you tell me which I need? Thanks.
what did you paid for the siren II and pager? I am hearing conflicting info on pricing and you need.
I ordered mine from Zanotti's who I highly recommend, and I paid with their discount, $70.61 for the Smart Siren II and $54.91 for the Pager II for a total of $125.52 for both. They were easy to install and work great.
The older version (Smart Siren and Security System Pager) work independently of each other. Meaning that you can install either the siren or pager or both.
The new version (Smart Siren II and Security System Pager/Receiver II) works differently. The pager is dependent on the siren. That is why it costs so much less. Transmitter is in the siren.
I told the dealer to install the Smart Siren II and Pager/Receiver II when they did my cams last month. They installed the old version by mistake and I didn't notice until I was already home (pager was in a box in the saddlebag, it was 36 degrees, I had 40 miles of superslab to ride and I just wanted to get warm). I talked to the service manager and it will be corrected the next time I bring in the bike.
I bought mine (II version) from ChicagoHarley...same price as Zanotti's but I heard Zanotti's shipment is faster than ChicagoHarley. Installation is straight forward....with the easy to follow instruction.
