starting problem 08 street gl

has anyone had a problem with starting after a ride. the bike cranks but sometimes it starts and sometimes not.

Listen closely when you first turn the ignition on. You may have a problem with the fuel pump initiation circuit. The computer lets the pump run for three seconds then it shuts down because the crankshaft rotation sensor is telling the computer that it’s not rotating. After the engine starts the sensor keeps the pump running. One very common problem is a loose ground wire under the seat just behind the tank. Check it first. Good luck.
