You are in gorgeous country, but you do get the rain all right. Just move about 500 miles S. to southern Oregon and it will turn into California weather.

It hasn't rained here in at least 2 months so I'm spoiled. I wouldn't run errands in the rain just because I don't want to clean the scoot.

Here's our forecast for the next 10 days:

Live in Florida and we get our fair share of the wet stuff. I have no issue riding in it.

I won't leave if its raining, unless its a trip. Otherwise, I don't pay any attention to it.

The rains are torrential here in Japan. I did not ride at all the last two weeks of August. I hate the rain and avoid it at all costs. But I do get caught from time to time. Me and the wife were out on Sunday and got caught in a downpour about 2mi from home. Now she knows why I hate the rain.

I would take the truck for the errand, other than that I probably wouldn't change my plans unless weatherbug had tons of huge thunderstorms coming through. I have spent some pretty good times in cheesy diners talking to waitresses, eating eggs and bacon, and waiting for a thunderstorm to blow on through. Those are good memories. I don't have raingear other than my leathers so I usually depend on a break in the rain to blow dry me. I got soaked last week by the remnants of Gustav in KY and did alter my return route to go east - away from the rain - before going south. I was soaked in the first 50 miles - jeans and boots dripping wet - then dried out in the sun over the next 50 miles. Wasn't so bad.

Also, reading all these posts I am sure glad I have an old bike. I wouldn't know what to do for 8 hours cleaning it. When I got back I washed it down with water and a rag, dried it, and threw a little wax on the tank - took maybe 30 minutes. Just not a big cleaner I guess.
