well..with no help from MoCO.....or dealer.I pulled the motor, brought it to a local qualified welder and had the case repaired...gonna put it in Tues. so I can do the Halloween Run on Sun.......thanks to all who tried to help
Case mounts break and most are due to the owners! Like on a shovel or older, you just cant plop the engine in the frame mounts and expect the engine to sit 100% flush before even installing any hardware. The case perches sitting off the frame mounts will need shimmed then bolts installed and torqued. On a newer TC,it could be caused again by owner, worn rubber mount or loose or broken mount and a heavy rt hand at stop lights. Please tell me it wasnt in a burnout pit!Tell us alittle about the bikes history??Any alignment ever done?has vibrations been getting worse? What upgrades have been done since it was new? A welded case looks awful even if hidden, and if the weld looks great it scares the bejesus out of the next buyer.I doubt that anyone will hear your story and open the bank,so now is your chance to get those stronger aftremarket cases or use the remanufacturing by Hd and keep all the numbers legit.Or go with HD cases and send them yours.
Riding today and noticed that the inner primary case is cracked on the top. Not as bad as yours but bad enough for me. At least it is on top and all of the oil didn't leak out.
