Default Steering head shake.

I got new tires installed, had the fork oil changed, on Reaper (2005 Night Train) a couple of weeks ago, and since then, I have noticed a steering head shake between speeds of around 25 - 45 mph.

This is Reaper's third set of Metzeler ME880s, the second time the fork oil has been changed, and she has just over 34000 miles on her.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

Cheers!

Might be a couple different things. Out of balance tire will cause shake. Or more likely the steering nut is a little too loose. Tighten it down some and take it for a ride and see if it changes.

+1 on the steering nut loose. If the fork tube oil levels are not even that could cause it also.

If the steering head bearings were not worked on, then I say it's a defective rear tire.
Check the rear wheel bearings for excess play, or a loose rear axle, or loose/broken spokes, rim out of true, wheel balance, neck bearing preload (fall away), if all that is good, have your shop exchange the tire due to defect. It may be an obvious bulge, or it could be completely invisible ie a weak area in the belting.
