10% ethanol?????????
I realize there's probably been discussion of the fuel we are buying but I thought I'd pass this on. Last month, while at a car show in Kansas City, I spoke with a Toyota mechanic from St. Joe, MO. and the subject of fuel came up. I have an 01 Tacoma and he said it will run on up 15% ethanol in the gas. But, if a customer brings in a vehicle that isn't running right they now test the fuel, as a matter of course. He said they have found the ethanol as high as 20% in gas tanks. I don't know how common this is. So if your bike all the sudden doesn't seem to run right after purchasing fuel this could be the problem. Some areas and the crap they put in the fuel vary. Ethanol can accelerate rust in a gas tank, so I've made the habit of putting a little Amsoil 100 to 1 two stroke (for the chainsaw, etc.) in the tank along with the Stabil stuff.
I think ethanol belongs to Jack Danials, Makers Mark, and Fighting **** Bourbon anyway.

There are some areas of the country that offer E85 which is 85% Ethanol. This will definately have a bad effect on the vehicle. E85 is cheaper than regular gas so some of the mechanics customers may be trying to do their own blend.
If you suspect bad fuel report it to the state so they can test the fuel.

Why not? The best way to keep your carb or/or injectors clean. Truckers use ATF in their fuel. I use Mystery oil in my bike and can tell a big difference and I have 57k on it.

I use MMO myself in the bike, diesel truck and the car, have used it for years! I know guys that put 2 cycle oil in their hotrods every other tank or so.
