I just purchased a new 2009 RK Deluxe and at just under 2000 miles the transmission failed. I was in 2nd gear going down the hill where I live and then when I attempted to drive up into the driveway, I was in either 5th or 6th gear and the engine died. As i maneuvered the bike to be in a position to coast back down the hill and out of arms way, I pushed the throttle enough to force the high gear to move the bike so I could take in down hill. Once in position, I tried to change gears and was unable to do so--in fact, when I let the clutch out, the transmission would not engage--in any gear.
Any thoughts?

PS. I did call HOG and the bike will be picked up in the morning...I did do that...
Sorry, son, your post is con-fussin' me.
You were in 2nd, and then mysteriously into 5th or 6th? Huh?
You say 'can't get ANY gear?'
Does scoot roll?
A li'l clearer info, and I can make an educated (or un-educated) stab at it. But having a hard time digesting the info presented.
Originally sounded like you had it stuck between 2 gears, but that will usually lock up the back wheel.
Can you get a neutral light at all?

Is it stuck in Park ? Did your GoldWing never do this ? If you wiggle the key and the steering wheel at the same time you may be able to get it into gear.
Sounds like something came loose inside. Gears do work off of each other. I believe 1st and 5th work off of each other that is why they both whine. Had that happen on an old bike and I was missing teeth on 1 gear. 1st and 4th would not work on that bike. I pulled the motor, cracked the case and had to replace 1 gear.
Watch out or HD will tell you that it is normal. They will fix it. Hope they dont keep it to long.
To Clarify: Tranny Problem--and Thanks for the comments
To Clarify:
I was coasting downhill in 1st gear, turned a corner and when I attempted to throttle up just a little to my driveway, the engine tried to stall because the transmission was in what felt like 4th or 5th gear. I was unable to move the transmission out of the high gear. When I forced the clutch to move the bike (high RPMs and a little clutch slipping later) I was able to move the bike from the center of the street.
When I started up again, the transmission would not engage at all--even with the clutch out...and Yes... I am able to get it into neutral...but when I shift out, the clutch still does not engage... I hope HD doesn't have it too long and hope they get it fixed...
I'm assuming (man I hate doing that) what your saying is that you shifted from 2nd thru the gears to 5th by the time you got to your driveway. Yeah it sounds like the gear set came apart.
