Default HD Riding Glasses

I am in the process of taking my rider's edge course, and last night they showed us some really neat sun glasses that have foam inserts that can be used while riding and taken out when not, they also have ones that will turn progressivly darkening .Thing is are these worth the $ or are there cheaper ones that work just as well.

Get cheaper ones. They are wayyyyyyyyyyyy overpriced plastic glasses.
I have them cause I hadn't seen any other ones I liked, but hadn't looked too hard. Since I have found some REALLY nice ones that are cheaper. BUT, at the time I lived in Minot, ND (Minot Air Force Base) which is in the middle of nowhere america, and the next biggest city - which still didn't have any stores that sold anything relating to biking besides another Harley dealer was 110 miles away. So I was stuck with shopping at the dealer until I rode to different rally's and states.
I have a smaller head size though and the harley ones fit the best. So for me they were worth it, but for most I would assume that the cheaper ones work better. PLUS, in all likely hood you will end up loosing or breaking them along the way somewhere and it sucks if you paid $130 for them vs. tossing out $10-$20 for a new pair of cheap ones every once in a while.

The Panoptics or 7 Eyes sold at Harley dealers may have plastic frames but the lenses are polycarbonate. I have two pair of them one has the transition lenses. While I agree they are very pricey, polycarbonate is much stronger and can take a substantial impact without failing. I'll pay the $130, it's cheap insurance.
just my $.02

Dude, where did you look. I'm in that town 110 miles from Minot and we have 2 Indy's, 1 Corporate BMX store, a Victory dealer, Honda dealer, Kawasaki dealer, HD MoCo and about a dozen optometrists/eye glass business all selling various styles of riding glasses and goggles.

Forgot to add; go with the polycarbonate lenses. You'll appreciate them when a passing truck pops a rock at your face.

Default Progressive Lenses

I have the Panoptics with the progressive lenses, and they were worth every penny. I live on the coast, and work inland over a ridge line. Almonst every day, I go from sunshine, to dense fog, and back to sunshine. The progressives make this comfortable. I've looked at other brands with progressives, but none on them seemed appropriate for riding (too big, seems to be the style right now), and were pricy anyway.

I got a pair of goggles that keep the wind out, look pretty good, and are cheap ... got them in the paintball section of WalMart for $6.00
